Yes, you need to have more calories burned than eaten, but that doesn't mean that you should not take in calories at all. If your not taking in calories at all then you are missing part of the equation! Your body needs those calories to function on! If you don't eat, whether it's because you forget, or you don't want to, or you just want to lose more weight, in the end you could be doing more harm then good. And I know you know (because I heard you say so at WW) that when you don't eat, your body thinks it's starving - which if you haven't been eating, then it's starving! So whatever you do eat, instead of using what it needs and letting the rest go, it hangs on to everything, just in case it might not get it tomorrow.

For me, if I want this to become a lifestyle change and something that I will live with forever, I know I have to get to a place where its not so much about the scale number anymore (I'm not there yet, but I see it in the distance). It becomes more about being healthy, treating my body with respect, and having a healthy realtionship with food. In that I understand what food is for - to give me energy, to keep my brain functioning, to keep my organs running, etc. It is not for me to give my control to (whether that means the fattening stuff getting me to binge, or me being afraid to eat anything because I might gain weight), to stuff my emotions with, to celebrate with, etc. My friend, I think this might be where your getting stuck. Food is not the enemy, food is good, food is from God. There are lots of wonderful things that we are meant to enjoy. You are doing such a great job and have come so far. Maybe the next step to get over this next hump is to understand your relationship with food, and decide if it needs to be tweaked at all.

Ana from Vegan Ana and I were talking about what an amazing person you! You are so strong and have come so far - keep up the awesome work. You're an inspiration.Samhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13002949544678789625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4367036655034078155.post-39583217486061683342010-06-05T16:39:41.031-07:002010-06-05T16:39:41.031-07:00hang in there I saw your nifty bike.. It basically answers that exact question. It teaches you all about each main hormone and how if they are off then it can really screw with your metabolism even if you eat less. She says losing weight is not about eating less, it's about eating clean, eating whole foods, natural foods. It is so informative and has helped me TREMENDOUSLY! She gives her own persona story about how she would eat less and workout like crazy and gain 15 pounds. She explains how she discovered what the problem is and how to fix it. You should really read it. I think, if your scale is stuck, you would really benefit from reading the book.Hollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08467692407783540780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4367036655034078155.post-34282038461676236662010-06-05T12:39:29.820-07:002010-06-05T12:39:29.820-07:00It's never as easy as the math...or else no on...It's never as easy as the math...or else no one would be heavy!
Plug your fingers into your ears and refuse to listen to the "reasons" of people who mean well, but don't really know what's going on, either.
Just do what you know works for you!
And you can't go wrong.
I fast all the time...not always for weight loss, but to give my guts a break!Anne Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10435482289459434828noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4367036655034078155.post-63363481490900059762010-06-05T10:59:25.517-07:002010-06-05T10:59:25.517-07:00Oh...if it was only that easy :(Oh...if it was only that easy :(Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4367036655034078155.post-19575667421965625172010-06-05T10:52:15.324-07:002010-06-05T10:52:15.324-07:00I am with you on the math confusion. If you don't have enough calories, your body will go into starvation mode and try to hold on to as much fat as possible. Something as simple as eating 200 more calories a day might be your ticket to dropping the pounds more quickly. I wish you the best!!!My Body In Motionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13643400038328062657noreply@blogger.com
