A bump in the road

Looks like I am not very lucky. Not only do I have PLANTAR FASCIITIS (PF), but the physical therapist found a stress fracture in my heel bone. So before I can get the therapy to help with the PF, I need to get my fracture at a healing point. It will be way too painful for the PT to help me with my therapy to relieve my PF pain as long as my fracture is being a problem. (By the way the PT is a HUBBA HUBBA....I think I will be just fine going to see him). LOL

Waiting for the foot doctor to call me so I can be fitted for a very pretty boot...Yeah not too excited about that but I hope that it will at least help me to walk without the pain. Not sure how I can ride my bike with it but if there is a will there's a way. I wont be very fun to have it on at the Sugarland concert this Friday but at least I get to go.

So I feel extra unlucky. It will be a long process to get me better but I am not going to let this keep me from exercising on the bike and eating healthy. I have had BIGGER challenges in my life, this is just a bump in the road! See you on the flip side....

  2. I had the boot on for a month. It went all the way up to my knee! It's a pain, just know that right now... BUT it will make the pain a lot better. It's like walking on air! Makes me SORT OF want to get those ugly rocker shoes.

  3. Katy I wish I could wear those rocker shoes (I think they are cute) but my balance is way too bad to wear them...

  4. Oh man, no wonder your foot was hurting, but at least they found it. I wore one of those boot contraptions too when I fell, thought I just twisted the ankle. Ended up I crushed the Peripheral nerve, wore that boot for three months. It was really awkward at first and you definitely can't go without a shoe on other foot (for those of us with balance issues), as it has at least an inch of sole thickness, they don't allow the foot area to bend at all. Be aware, Lesia, that because of it's sole, it throws the hips and back in different angles if your other shoe doesn't have close to the same sole thickness.

  5. Goos Luck Lesia! That is no fun at all, however I know you will handle this as well as you have everything else that has hit you. Riding the bike should be interesting, maybe you should video the first attempt...lol

  6. Hope it "heals" quickly. But... they found a problem so now that you know it can be fixed. :) Love ya! Your house is starting to sound like ours. Maybe this family needs to stop sharing everything... can we pass it on to another family yet??
